Scott Laws – Instructor of Biblical Counseling

Scott is married to Debrah, they have been married 44 years. He has 5 adult children, Lydia Faith , Stephanie Hope , Sarah Love , Stuart Brandon, and Matthew Ryan, and 7 grandchildren. He has pastored 3 churches, served as associate pastor in 5 churches. He has taught Middle and High School for 7 years. Scott was Pastor of Counseling, Global Missions ,and Evangelism at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Charlotte, NC. for 10 years. At Hickory Grove Scott logged over 5000 session hours as Pastor of counseling. Scott’s counseling ministry includes Marriage and Family, Anger Management ,Abuse, Grief and Crisis. He holds a B.A. degree in Bible and a Master’s degree in Clinical Christian Counseling. Scott is a Licensed Pastoral Counselor, Licensed Temperament Therapist with the National Christian Counselors Assoc. and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Association of Biblical Counselors. He completed a two year extensive Neuthetic counseling course of study with Dr. Jay Adams. The one thing that gives Scott the greatest fulfillment in life is teaching the Word of God and encouraging spiritual growth in anyone desiring help.


Michelle Massie – Director

Michelle has been the Trinity Bible Institute Administrator since its inception in 2011. She never in her wildest dreams thought she would be a college administrator; but cannot imagine her life without this amazing opportunity and blessing. Michelle is a graduate of the T.B.I. Bachelor of Christian Ministries program and along with her years of experience in the business-world applies them to her current role at Trinity. Michelle understands that God doesn’t always call the equipped, He equips the called; and only thru prayer and God’s guidance does she fulfill this role. In addition, she assists with the Trinity Drama Team and is a member of the Trinity Choir. Michelle loves to travel and most recently to Israel. Spending time with her family and friends is priceless.

Amanda Rae Rorie – Online Coordinator

Amanda has been with Trinity Bible Institute since 2018 and is part of the online campus administration. Amanda graduated from King’s College in Charlotte with an Associate Degree in Business Administration and from Trinity Bible Institute with a Bachelor of Christian Ministry.  Amanda is bi-vocational and brings her compassion for others and her experience in healthcare administation to help students strive for success and acheive their goals. In addition, she serves as a member of Trinity Choir and is Sr. Vice President of a local faith based counseling center. Amanda loves to travel, crochet, and spend time spoiling her precious niece and nephew. Amanda loves to serve the Lord and is blessed to be a part of building God’s Kingdom through T. B. I. 

Martha Vess – Onsite Coordinator

Martha has a heart for Christ and passion for education. She has been a part of the TBI family since Fall of 2014 and has graduated from the Bachelor of Christian Ministries program. She considers it a blessing to serve on the administrative staff for the College and enjoys assisting both the staff and the students. Martha is also bi-vocational with a background in law enforcement and the student loan industry. Martha has served in many areas including student ministry, homeless ministry, and the drama and music ministry. She enjoys traveling, training in Kickboxing and Brazilian & Goshin Jitsu, and pitting for her husband who races off-road motorcycles. God blessed her with a wonderful, God-fearing husband and his precious daughter whom she loves like her own!

Chris Chapman – Media Director

Chris is married to Brandi; they have been married 21 years. Chris and Brandi have 2 children. Chris has been serving in church media for 35 plus years and has recently stepped back from some of his roles in order to concentrate on Trinity Bible Institute. He loves to serve in the media area of ministry by using the talents that the Lord has given to him. He also is involved in running sound for a band on the weekends and doing some production events.  As the TBI Media Director, Chris handles all the video, audio and on -screen presentation for the on-campus classes, satellite campuses and the online classes. This year, he is excited to begin taking the classes, so that he can graduate with his dad. He enjoys spending time at the shooting range with his son and riding around town with his daughter, as she has recently got her driving permit. The Chapman family also has 3 dogs, Ninna (schnauzer and terrier mix), Grant (Schnauzer) and Maya (Siberian husky).
